Dr Roslyn Avery obtained her medical degree from The University of Newcastle and completed her Fellowship in Rehabilitation Medicine at John Hunter Hospital, Rankin Park Unit. She also holds an Honours Degree in Science and Post Graduate degree in OH&S.
Following completion of her JHH fellowship, Dr Avery was honoured to work as a Stroke Fellow within the world leading Stroke Team at John Hunter Hospital. Working with this strong research team fuelled a passion for EBM Rehabilitation and best outcome post stroke.

She has expertise in Spasticity Management arising from cerebral palsy, spinal and acquired neurological injuries including stroke, with extensive experience in Botulinum toxin intervention.
Dr Avery is Director of Rehabilitation at Port Macquarie Private Hospital and has VMO appointments at Port Macquarie Private Hospital, Wauchope District Memorial Hospital and Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
In addition to her work as a doctor, Dr Avery is also a Senior Lecturer at UNSW Medical School since 2011 and the RMSANZ Neuro Rehab SIG Chair since 2019.
